Google and Nvidia provided information that backs a key FTC contention — that Microsoft could gain an unfair advantage in the market for cloud, subscription and mobile gaming — according to the people, who asked not to be identified because the process is confidential.

The US Federal Trade Commission is seeking to block Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, saying the tie-up between the Xbox maker and popular gaming publisher would harm competition.

The company has extended a similar commitment offer to Sony, to bring the famous Activision franchise to PlayStation consoles for 10 years.

The offer is dependent on Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard acquisition going ahead.
